Like his statements on the revival and resurrection of the economy, inclusive growth, etc., Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s remark that Rahul Gandhi would be an ideal choice for the Prime Minister’s post after the 2014 elections should also be taken with a pinch of salt. It is clear that Rahul’s image is on the wane. When he entered politics in 2004, there was expectation in the air. He had a good opportunity to become the toast of the nation by proving his mettle in any chosen area of government or party organisation. But he failed to prove his ability. His appeal today is restricted to Congress voters. To be able to win the 2014 election, a leader needs the support of a much larger constituency.

Rahul has done nothing much except conducting some road shows now and then. I have no hesitation in saying people should reject both Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi.
