Preposterous

The editorial “Cart before the horse” (June 7) convincingly drives home the point that the spot-fixing controversy is meandering into absurd territories. The slapping of the draconian MCOCA against cricketers Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan is preposterous. It seems that the design of the Delhi police is to make scapegoats of the three players. The admission by Rajasthan Royals owner Raj Kundra that he placed bets on his own IPL team shows that the very concept called IPL is flawed.

The aim of the Delhi police seems to be to divert attention from their failure on all fronts. It is hard to believe that the law-enforcing agencies were not aware of betting in IPL when the common man knew it all along.
