Opposition space

This refers to the report, “ >Regional players likely to align in Lok Sabha ” (May 22). The shrewd and cunning way in which the AIADMK, the TMC and the BJD are coming together to isolate the Congress and deny it principal Opposition space is nothing but an exercise in political mockery. Much before the election, there was talk of a “federal front” of non-Congress, non-BJP regional parties that principally centred around these very same parties. Why have the AIADMK and the BJD failed to respond to this? They now appear to be the “B” team of the BJP and will ensure that there is no secular voice as far as the Opposition is concerned.

One only hopes that there is a solution to this based on the argument that is presented in the report, >“New House cannot have Opposition leader ” (May 22).
