The history of the Open Page (Online and Offline, March 21) was interesting. Ours is a family of readers of The Hindu for decades. A few of my views and many of my father and grandfather's have appeared in the Letters column. We consider The Hindu a member of our family rather than call ourselves its stakeholders. An important reason for this close association is that the Letters column allows us the liberty of sharing our points of disagreement as well.
Now the expanded Open Page will help a legion of readers like us to share their views in a much more positive and meaningful way.
