On communalisation

The article, “ >Old and new fault lines in Uttar Pradesh ” (Aug. 30), gives a clear picture of the dangerous communalisation that has infected the country in general and Uttar Pradesh in particular. The need of the hour is to educate the countrymen on the basic features of all religions. They should be included in the curriculum of schools and colleges. This can help clear misunderstanding and doubts about religions.

I studied in a school run by the RSS. I know how facts are manipulated in these schools, how students are turned against the minorities, and how Narendra Modi and his men are projected as ideals in the morning assembly. These schools are the meeting point of the BJP and the RSS. They inject children with the virus of communalism, the students pass it on to their friends and the chain goes on. How can we ever achieve communal harmony with such schools promoting their agenda?
