Official bungalows

The report, “ >In its last days, UPA allowed Ministers to retain govt. houses ” (June 25), shows that after gross misrule and indulging in deep corruption, the UPA appears to have also displayed unwarranted favouritism as far as official accommodation was concerned. That many of the beneficiaries include the dependants of even those who have passed away shows that the Narendra Modi government needs to revisit many unjustified decisions of the UPA.

One fails to understand the logic behind the UPA government’s decision at the last moment to have permitted these people to continue living in official bungalows. Is it not gross abuse of power and a waste of tax-payers’ money? Any leniency in this issue is quite unwarranted.
