Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi’s comment (“ >No Modi wave in the country, says Joshi ,” April 14) is a reflection of the mood of the party’s senior cadre. Although there was no substantial objection from any quarter in the party when Mr. Modi was anointed as the party’s prime ministerial candidate, its senior members such as Mr. L.K. Advani, Mr. Jaswant Singh, Ms. Uma Bharti and Mr. Joshi could not hide their envy, and they have now started voicing out their displeasure. Post-election, it may well become clear that most of Mr. Modi’s adversaries will not be from outside the party but from within it.
