Moscow blasts

Monday's twin bomb blasts in Moscow metro stations perpetrated by the Chechen separatists bear the markings of the al-Qaeda/Lashkar-e-Taiba operations intended to cause maximum civilian casualties. It is a cruel fact that even with the best of security, it is impossible to prevent terror attacks.

To tackle the menace, all countries should join hands to establish a well-equipped and trained global anti-terrorism army. Unless such urgent measures are taken, terror outfits lurking in all corners of the world will be emboldened to strike anywhere anytime.

Terror attacks, suicide-bombings, car-bomb blasts have all become the order of the day the world over. Some outfits connected with Islamist terror groups owning responsibility for the attacks has become a routine matter. Their acts are highly condemnable. Can these elements not think of more civilised ways to attain their goals?

The blasts by two female suicide bombers at the metro stations in Moscow reiterate the fact that terrorism has neither religion nor gender.
