‘Modi wave’

April 26, 2014 12:20 am | Updated May 21, 2016 01:22 pm IST

One did not expect Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to comment on whether there is a “Modi wave” or not in the country (“Modi wave a media creation: Manmohan,” April 25). If there is no such wave, why make such a remark? One can only say that Dr. Singh has been given the go-by by the same media outlets that propped him up by calling him an economic genius. One can think of Germany’s Willy Brandt and Sweden’s Gunnar Myrdal who have outshone Dr. Singh. Why can’t Dr. Singh give Mr. Modi a chance?
