Mobile phones have recklessly intervened in our otherwise pristine lives (Open Page, July 18). We find youngsters blaring the latest tunes in their trendy cell phones. Frequent calls and SMSs have eliminated the longing of the olden times to meet a dear one. The cell phone has rendered our lives tasteless.

In the fast moving world, one cannot imagine living without the latest scientific gadgets, especially the cell phone. But the cell phone has led to the decline of sparrows and bees. It will not be long before it takes a toll on humans too. Science is a boon and bane, depending on its uses and misuse.
