Mended ties

Finally, we see a voice of reason conceding that continuing to point the finger at Narendra Modi over the Gujarat riots after the country’s judicial system has exonerated him is of no avail (“Congress, NC mend relations”, Jan. 30). Along with Nationalist Congress Party leader Praful Patel, National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah too has said Mr. Modi’s suitability as Prime Minister must be left to the voters to adjudicate. How ironic it is that the Opposition’s prime ministerial candidate should have contributed to the reuniting of the two sundered parties.
