Maoist attack

April 02, 2016 01:09 am | Updated 01:09 am IST

Once again, our CRPF personnel have had to lose their lives in insurgency-hit Chhattisgarh (“CRPF movement leaked to Maoists”, April 1). It is time the government comes up with a genuine plan to bring the insurgents to the dialogue table and frames an effective rehabilitation plan for those who lay down arms.

Is there no solution to the problem of insurgency? Is it so impossible to stop a handful of people who have strayed from the right path? Are they more powerful than the government? We have to understand their grievances and bring them back to a life of peace.

Md. Ubaidullah,

Araria, Bihar

The front page photograph (March 31) which showed the severity of landmine explosion was extremely disturbing. Will not such images affect the morale of our security forces and prove to be equally painful to the relatives of those who are dead?
