Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s indecent poser — whether people should urinate to create water for the drought-affected Maharashtra — for which he has reportedly apologised shows the calibre of present day political leaders.

It is amazing that such people win elections and even become Ministers. It is a wonder that our country runs in spite of such absurd behaviour by our rulers.

It is a sin to be born poor in India. Hardworking farmers are always ridiculed by politicians. As Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Pawar should be ashamed that his State is suffering from water shortage. It is such irresponsible attitude that forces people to take up arms.

T. Anand Raj,

Mr. Pawar’s remark is irresponsible and below human standards. One wonders how he could bring himself to say what he did. It has become a trend among political leaders to first make rubbish comments and then apologise.
