Looking to the Saudis

The article “Tilting towards the Saudis” (April 6) is a reminder of how India could repeat historical mistakes while improving ties with one country. While it makes strategic sense for India to have better ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to keep Pakistan under pressure, maintaining equally cordial relations with Iran is important. The influence of Wahhabism could have the potential of damaging the social fabric in India. The improving ties are a test for Indian diplomacy.
