The much awaited and expected verdict on the Nirbhaya gang rape case is out. It has confirmed the guilt of the four accused (one of the accused committed suicide while the sixth offender, a juvenile, was sentenced to three years in a remand home) and convicted them for 13 offences with which they were charged. That Indian courts do not swerve from the path of their commitment to protect and preserve the rule of law has once again been proved beyond doubt.
