The decision of K.M Mani, chairman of the Kerala Congress (Mani), to leave the UDF has presented the Congress in Kerala a chance to grow (Aug.8). It should boldly pick up the gauntlet thrown by the Mani-centric regional outfit and move on. Inwardly, many young leaders of the Congress are bound to be gladdened by the development as it gives them a golden opportunity to work their way up. Even though it is an onerous task and calls for much-needed political will and sagacity, it is time that the Congress mooted the idea of single-party rule in Kerala.
