I disagree with the views of one of the letter-writers in this column (April 4) on Israel. Being a victim once does not mean that one has the right to be an oppressor later. In fact, Israel should understand the perils of playing the oppressed class card and should instead act with empathy towards the Palestinians. Israel has been playing the victim card for far too long.
