ISRO's success

As a former production chemist at the Cordite Factory, Aruvankadu (the Nilgiris), it was a moment of nostalgia after watching the sight of PSLV-C18 lifting off, on Wednesday. In the mid-1960s, space scientists from the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS) used to visit Aruvankadu for the supply of double-base propellant and dynamite, used in the initial trials. The Rohini rocket was the first one to be fired. How far the ISRO has come!

After days of gloomy news, it was a joy to read about the two satellites built by engineering students (Chennai and Kanpur) being released as free birds into space. It injects fresh optimism for future generations.
