As a former production chemist at the Cordite Factory, Aruvankadu (the Nilgiris), it was a moment of nostalgia after watching the sight of PSLV-C18 lifting off, on Wednesday. In the mid-1960s, space scientists from the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS) used to visit Aruvankadu for the supply of double-base propellant and dynamite, used in the initial trials.
