Inter-caste marriages are frowned upon in our society. The disapproval is deeply rooted in feudal values, inherited from our ancestors. It is, therefore, not possible to eliminate caste by using a magic wand. Although many inter-caste marriages result in violence, there are many which succeed, with or without the approval of parents and relatives. I am certain that the number of such marriages is on the rise.
