Hope for the disabled

By becoming the first country to ratify the treaty (“ >India ratifies Marrakesh Treaty for visually impaired ,” July 3), the country has sent out a clear message that it is ready to take substantive steps to uphold the rights of its visually impaired or otherwise print disabled citizens. It is wonderful that those who have been denied critical information, knowledge and skill sets — which in turn spell unemployment, poverty and a denial of basic human rights — will now have greater opportunities.
