Honour for a canine

June 14, 2014 01:52 am | Updated May 24, 2016 10:56 am IST

The CRPF’s decision to honour “Juliet”, a Belgian Shepherd Malinois infantry dog, is appropriate. This breed is also used by the U.S. Navy Seals. It reminded me of a story in my English Pre-University class in 1959 about a hunter and his dog. One day, the hunter fell into a gorge and died. The dog located the gorge after days of criss-crossing the mountain and remained there barking day and night till someone noticed the body and helped. Such is the sincerity and loyalty of our canine friends.
