I read the article in The Hindu>(“Evidence against persons ‘much above’ Tyagi,” July 30, 2013.) Nobody in the hearing mentioned “top secret documents from the Indian Defence Ministry” nor suggested in any out-of-court statements that in the Italian case there is evidence involving persons “much above” Air Marshal Tyagi and that “sources close to the defense” gave information on the above issues. It is completely unsubstantiated.
I invite you to give a formal denial of the facts written in your article.
Ennio Amodio,
Advocate, Professor of Criminal Procedure
Vaiju Naravane responds:
Sources did speak to this correspondent about “top secret documents from the Indian Defence Ministry” contained in the 1,10,000 pages of evidence collected by the Prosecutor’s office. Some of that evidence implicates persons “much above” Air Marshal Tyagi. Professor Amodio is not the source for this supplementary information.
