In 1963, at the age of 22 with an agnostic bent of mind, I went all alone to Puttaparthi, a small hamlet, when Sri Sathya Sai Baba's influence was just spreading. I stayed there for two days under the trees in front of Prasanthi Nilayam which was a one-storey building. The Chitravathi river meandered through the barren, rocky terrain. I had a darshan when the spiritual leader conducted bhajans . I never imagined that his philanthropic activities would scale such heights. Now all roads lead to the hamlet.
