This refers to the report, “ >£52,000 to save the bustard ” (May 21). In the early 1980s, this great bird was unmistakably sighted on the outskirts of Dharmavaram town in Anantapur district by several bird watchers and brought to the notice of the Forest Department. The authorities are requested to take note of this observation and implement measures to enable the conservation of this avian species as the Deccan Plateau was one of the natural homes of this rare bird.
