Great experience

The musical event in Srinagar, Ehsaas-e-Kashmir, conducted by Zubin Mehta recently was a lifetime experience for me. The fusion of Kashmiri folk tunes and western classical music, and the use of two Kashmiri folk instruments were the icing on the cake.

Over 50 years ago, as a student in Manchester, I had the good fortune of listening to Mehli Mehta, father of Zubin Mehta. He was with the Manchester symphony orchestra conducted by Sir John Barbirolli.
