Fortitude in Kashmir

June 17, 2018 09:35 pm | Updated 09:35 pm IST

It is heartening that the staff and journalists at Rising Kashmir worked with determination to bring out the next day’s edition despite the trauma they faced (Sunday Special – “Stop press? Not at Rising Kashmir”, June 17). It is time that forces inimical to peace realise that sanity will eventually return to Kashmir. The vanguard of the media should continue to unmask the diabolic designs of dark forces.

The resolve the publication’s team displayed to continue with work as usual is remarkable, reminding us of how the staff of the French satirical weekly magazine, Charlie Hebdo, readied the magazine for publication despite the loss of frontline staff. The journalists of Rising Kashmir have demonstrated that resilience is an unbeatable antidote in moments of crisis.
