India and China have had endless rounds of negotiations to resolve the border dispute. But a resolution is nowhere in sight. It is time the Indian government paid heed to the constitutional direction in Article 50(d) which reads: “The state shall endeavour to encourage settlement of international disputes by arbitration.”
But who should be the arbitrator? Three members of BRICS — Brazil, Russia and South Africa — are ideally placed to offer their good offices. India and China, the other two members, should approach the three friendly nations to arbitrate in the matter.
