Now that it has been proved legally and technically that N.D. Tiwari is indeed the father of Rohit Shekhar, shouldn’t the court frame charges against the former Chief Minister and Governor for lying under oath?

V.S. Chidambaram,

In a country where land and water are worshipped as women deities, women are treated badly by a few. They are lured with false promises by men like Mr. Tiwari. At a time when reports of teenage pregnancies and motherhood are becoming common, the High Court verdict is significant.

The editorial “Tiwari & Son” (Aug. 2) rightfully praises Rohit Shekhar’s mother. As the Hindi writer, Jaishankar Prasad, wrote in his play on women liberation, Dhruvswamini: “It is possible for vakshasthala, a human breast, to possess two hearts” implying that a human being is capable of loving two or more humans at the same time. It is time we woke up to the reality, and learnt to respect the ‘other woman.’ Otherwise, all talk of women empowerment will be rendered meaningless. If you love someone, be bold and fair to acknowledge it.
