Extend deadline

October 27, 2009 02:22 am | Updated 02:22 am IST

I write this in connection with the announcement of the Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for the Single Girl Child, carried in EducationPlus, The Hindu , Kerala edition, on October 20. The application is required to reach the University Grants Commission in New Delhi by November 2. The time limit is inadequate.

A girl studying far away from home and staying in a college hostel (like me) will find it difficult to get the documents and attested copies of certificates and rush the application on time. I, therefore, request the authorities to extend the deadline. Since individual representation, at this stage, will not yield the desired result, I am writing to The Hindu .
