Data loss

January 11, 2018 12:06 am | Updated 12:06 am IST

When my personal data are available in the market, and for a song, how safe is the system is the question (“Editorial – “Data theft”, January 9). And when Aadhaar is increasingly being linked to multiple sources of data, the issue assumes great importance. Can the government give all citizens an undertaking that it will compensate us for such a loss if there is proof of Aadhaar ID leaks? If the government is so sure that it has a foolproof system, why does it not let citizens find breaches as it was done in the case of the electronic voting machine?
