“All secrets are deep. All secrets become dark. That’s in the nature of secrets.” Cory Doctorow was right. We have not succeeded in unravelling the truth behind the Bofors deal. Now that Ottavio Quattrocchi is dead, the mystery will be buried with him. The perpetual discourse on what could have been and could not have been on Bofors will henceforth be of academic interest only.

C. Chandrasekran,

Madurai

Quattrocchi was a household name in India. He became very familiar to the people of Chennai thanks to The Hindu . He became synonymous with the Bofors deal although no one still knows what exactly his role was.

T.S. Gopalakrishnan,

Chennai
