Blueprint for defence

July 11, 2014 02:08 am | Updated 02:08 am IST

This refers to the article, “ >A blueprint for the defence industry ” (July 10). Why is ‘prevention of corruption’ a distant goal in this blueprint? It is a fact that the rampant corruption in the defence sector far outweighs that in many other sectors. Payoffs in deals such as Bofors and AgustaWestland are just two examples. There should not be attempts to portray the DRDO as a white elephant. The government must allow for sufficient allocation of resources for research and the export of ammunition and weaponry.
