Bharat to Bhutan

It is heartening to note that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is quickly following up on bilateral gains made soon after his swearing-in with his visit to Bhutan, a country that is problem-free and in peace (“ >Modi stresses ‘B2B’ ties with Bhutan ,” June 16). The step is both imaginative and inspiring. His bubbling confidence in spelling out the road map ahead and his optimism are to be appreciated. The path to India’s progress is through cooperation with our neighbours. ‘B2B’ must later lead to ‘I2I’ or India to International-level ties.

Mr. Modi’s words of praise for Bhutan and the steps he suggested to aid development there are magnanimous. One hopes that the Prime Minister will soon visit Sri Lanka, Pakistan and China at the earliest and set right our problems.
