The barbaric, brutal murder of two Indian soldiers by the Pakistan army, which crossed over to the Indian side of the Line of Control in Kashmir, is condemnable. If not now, when will India get out of its ‘softly, softly’ approach to Pakistan? A nation which houses and extends hospitality to the masterminds of 26/11 and gangsters like Dawood Ibrahim cannot be trusted. India should suspend bilateral talks for now as a protest.

India should exercise the utmost caution in dealing with the volatile scenario created by Pakistan’s inhuman treatment of Indian soldiers. We have a neighbour who has failed time and again in honouring its international agreements; a neighbour who has a fickle democracy dictated by its military junta and is armed with nuclear weapons.
India should avoid taking hasty decisions that may lead to the escalation of tensions between the two countries. We must stop being emotional and avoid talking about revenge since we have proved to the world that we are a nation of non-violence and peace-loving people.
