Babri Masjid case

April 02, 2015 03:45 am | Updated November 17, 2021 06:38 am IST

The Supreme Court notice seeking the responses of BJP leader L.K. Advani and 19 others on a petition that sought their trial on charges of conspiracy to demolish the Babri Masjid reaffirms the stand taken by the CBI earlier ( >April 1 ). It is also a paradox that no one has examined the role of the Narasimha Rao government which perhaps paved the way for the demolition which took place due to a series of lapses. There needs to be a fresh investigation into the role of this government and the BJP leaders in question.
