Avoidable spat

The two articles in the Magazine by Kamal Haasan and Muktha Srinivasan have exposed the inside story of Nayakan . Both may be right from their points of view. But the fact is this movie brought about a big change in the Tamil film industry.

People associated with the making of Nayakan should relish the happy moments, putting bitterness, if any, behind them. The washing of dirty linen in public should have been avoided.

Kamal Haasan may be a great actor but Mr. Srinivasan is in no way inferior. He has been in the cine field for years. I have been watching Tamil movies and reading articles on them for 60 years. I have found that only heroes are given credit for the success of a movie. But directors and producers are made scapegoats when a film fails.

This is especially true of two big Tamil heroes who are no more. Even the credit for songs and camera angles were given to them. It is time the practice was stopped. Other artists, producers and directors should also be given due credit for the success of a film.
