An inhuman practice

December 31, 2016 12:32 am | Updated 12:32 am IST

When I was young, I saw that when any upper-caste child touched a Dalit, he was often made to take a bath (“Talking to children about untouchability”, Dec. 30). I have seen tea shops offering tea in separate cups to people from lower castes. While the media, laws and civil society can play a big role in eradicating these practices, we must first talk to our children about them.
