Though the court has interpreted Ms Kushboo's views legally, they are an assault on the institution of marriage. Parents should advise their children to practise the time-tested post-marital sex only. Indulging in pre-marital safe sex will destroy the moral fabric of Indian youth.

Materialism, insatiable sexual preferences, addiction to drugs, and violence of all kinds are just a few hallmarks of the so-called modern societies. Are we in competition with such societies? How are we to stand out as a nation to be looked upon in matters of marriage, caring for the elderly, joint family system and such values if we blindly ape the West?
