The order of the Supreme Court cancelling the bail granted to a person accused of having thrown acid on his wife (March 17) is in line with a proverb, “Don’t ever take a fence down until you know why it was put up.” Acid throwing is a serious offence scarring the victim in numerous ways. There is no need to excuse the perpetrators on any account.
