AAP, BJP & Varanasi

The article “ >The good old fight ” (May 5) made a reader feel that he/she had visited Varanasi in person and witnessed in graphic detail the democratic campaign of AAP against the radical methods of the BJP. The pictures boosted the story a great deal. The article reminded me of the fight of the Indian National Movement against the British. The fact is that after the results of the general election are announced, the nation will be ruled by industrialists. As a famous Indian writer said in an essay in 2010: “The real power has passed into the hands of a coven of oligarchs — judges, bureaucrats, politicians. They in turn are run like prize horses by the few corporations who more or less own everything in the country.”
