Aamir Khan is right in asserting that cinema can be a tool for moral edutainment. The art-for-art’s- sake school may object, and maintain that aesthetics is a pure experience that cannot be mixed up with any agenda. But the fact that there is a good audience for moral entertainers substantiates Aamir Khan’s proposition. Society is best served by artists who elevate and ennoble, rather than by those who merely entertain.
