A battle of numbers

Consecutive logjams in Parliament (“ >Govt. struck by Opposition unity ,” Dec.21) convey the impression that our political leaders have no intention of rolling out good governance and working for the welfare of the people. They appear to have forgotten that both Houses run on the hard-earned money of taxpayers. We did not elect them to storm into the well of the House like unruly schoolchildren. When the Opposition demands that the Prime Minister justify his government’s position on the controversial conversions issue, it must also indulge in some soul-searching and justify this U-turn. especially as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was so exasperatingly silent on national issues. We cannot afford a House of Commotion any more.
