Less cash push

February 06, 2017 02:37 am | Updated 02:37 am IST

From the interview, “‘How many people withdraw ₹1 lakh a month from savings accounts?’” (‘Business’ page, Feb.4), it is clear that the Economic Affairs Secretary, Shaktikanta Das, lives in an ivory tower. He does not seem to be familiar with the ground reality as far as ATMs are concerned. At any given time, hardly 10% of ATMs function. How can he propagate the idea that remonetisation is complete? People who had extended their unstinted cooperation to this poorly planned scheme — the demonetisation — are frustrated by such irresponsible comments.
