2G document

Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee's “explanatory note” on the controversial Finance Ministry document (“Controversial 2G memo was background paper: Pranab,” Sept. 29) appears to be yet another attempt at cover-up. The entire ministry seems to have prior knowledge of the underpricing of the 2G spectrum. As the Congress government is the architect of the 2G scam, it is better UPA II is dissolved and we have a thorough probe.

The 2G controversy refuses to die down. The latest letter, memo or note from Mr. Mukherjee, has miserably failed in its purpose. When there were such divergent opinions on the issue of licensing, why at all did Prime Minister Manmohan Singh not take it to the Cabinet for discussion?
