Nice initiative by the Hindu. Keep coming.
Can we now expect similer reporting Coimbatore blasts, Kashmiri Hindus, Butchered Sikhs after the death of Indira, etc
It is a commendable effort on the part of Hindu to enable Tamils to have access to editorials in tamil. If the Hindu brings out its Tamil edition of daily that would be great service for the Tamils who are starving for impartial news paper in Tamilnadu.
I long back sent my elaborate views/congratulatory remarks in Tamil scripts which was not accepted by this website. After all, the whole exercise is by,for and to the Tamil knowing community! The focus is on the vernacular delivery and if the response is also in the same, it will only be appropriate. What could be the better objective for the entire effort? The BBC website deals with individual languages in their respective script itself. What happens if a 'poor in English' person comes out with good points, expressed in a better way, in his vernacular? Will the editorial board spare a thought to address my view/doubt?
Excellent idea. It's refreshing to listen to good articles that are delivered professionally. Hats off!
great to get 'The-Hindu' in Tamil, will make us understand the news faster! also, nice voice selection!
Wish 'The-Hindu' release a tamil news paper too!!
Hooray !! I look forward to The Hindu becoming a Tamil Language media outlet.
A positive emergence of changing dimensions in revolutions of THE HINDU!Can we expect other useful articles of sections like sci& tec? Mini regional daily editions can also be thought of!! well done keep it up!!!
Congratulations to the The Hindu. Thank you indeed.
I am Tamil-an ,and i am more comfortable with Tamil than English. At the same time i long for quality news irrespective of language so i struck to The Hindu. To me The Hindu is my native newspaper and this is further strengthened by Tamil Podcast. Now English language will not be barrier for my other fellow Tamil-ans who are longing for quality news. The Hindu will be remembered for its contribution to the Tamil society progress. Let this get extended to other Dravidian language.
For the first time I listened to the editorial. I appreciate the quality and the neutrality of the reader. She has very sweet voice. I applaud the professionalism that The Hindu exhibits in any media.
The voice-over is a bit too dramatic - especially when describing the scene of the crime. Maintain a professional distance from the subject, please.
If this move is just a prelude to the publication of your daily in Tamil,I wholeheartedly welcome it.
The title can be given in Tamil font itself, which will make it more clear.
Wow, Quality of substance and presentation is excellent. Looking forward for more such initiatives in Tamil
Bravo...The Hindu team. I am really happy about this initiative. Bring more of such innovative and most needed ideas, we will always support you. Appreciations once again.
Thanks to The Hindu the Tamil population canget the best of the daily news. Please go ahead and carry out more of these ventures.
THE HINDU is PIONEER among news paper. Good going. keep it up. Best wishes.
it would be useful for tamil speaking people. more editorials should be translated in to tamil, then only village students could improve their knowledge
Very Nice. Can we make it available as a podcast in iTunes?
Great! The Hindu quality in Tamil! Let the Tamil dailies and television learn correct writing and speaking in Tamil.
Way to go Hindu! The vernacular press was lacking editorial quality and this will provide that. Ramp-up quicker. We have enough sources for English language news. Please PLEASE focus on vernacular languages and provide your gold standard there. Lets learn to respect our own languages.
Highly innovative. No newspaper would have even imagined one. Good Tamil employed and pronunciation excellent. Contents of editorials always sensible. Let this initiative lead to video presentations as well. Also publication of a Tamil Daily of Hindu's standard is the expectation of Tamil readers. CONGRATS.
As someone residing in the UK in an area where no tamil is spoken, I have the chance to hear it at least once a day. I am certain that there are many others like myself across the globe who will be just as appreciative. Thank you.
well-done.! The Hindu has pioneered another positive and advanced step in the modern day journalism in India. Waiting for the English version
great initiative by the hindu to podcast editorials in tamil.surely,it will be helpful to the people especially visually challenged.keep up the good work.
Dear Sir: I have listned the Tamil Audio version of Gujarat Verdict as 'Neethi Mandra Thirppukalil oru milekal'; I congradulate The Hindu for such innovative additives in the press rather than routines.
The HINDU has brought technology for delivery of information and news in a convenient format. I am sure this will gain popularity and acceptance in days to come.
This is a great first step in increasing accessibility of The Hindu online.Kudos to the thinker.
it's great initiative...i wish all the tamil journals inherit the quality from the hindu.
Good initiative... Thank you...
Good thing! It would certainly help to many, especially the blind. Could you please provide in English as well?
Good move. Popularise this so that many people will know what is happening around them.
Brilliant initiative by The Hindu. Very well explained in Tamil. Do continue this good work.
It is no exaggeration that the HINDU needs special praise for innovative ways of handling communication for the benefit of humankind.
