The Tamil translation must be made more simple. It looks as if the translation was done sentence by sentence. The translator must translate the overall theme and put it in (natural) Tamil. Use short and straightforward sentences.
Pronunciation must improve. Voice is sweet, but needs more confidence.
Also, the presentation needs certain degree of authoritativeness
and force; - presently it is neutral and can tend to be boring.
Your effort is highly appreciated.
Ithu mihavum nandraha irukku. Hats off to the HINDU
GOOD EFFORT, HATS OFF TO YOU. SOON COME OUT WITH A TAMIL EDITION OF THE HINDU.
Veny nice of 'The Hindu'
Thanks The Hindu. Please continue your efforts towards this initiative!
THALAIYANGATHAI (Editorial) yelithil purinthukolla idhu mihavum payan ullathaai irukkirathu. Manam makilkirathu. Vaalthukkal
Good effort. However is there a way to subscribe these podcasts in my mobile devices? Listening to podcast sitting at the computer is not ideal. I'd prefer to listen to podcasts when I commute.
This is a great initiative taking the right message to cover rest of the segment missed out. Please continue to do so. Much appreciated.

Why not bring a new tamil paper to educate, enlighten and reform the people at large. This should be at Rs 2/day and can be named as Kanni Muyarchi - all in tamil and for all the Tamil.
Very good initiative.. valthukkal !Also, people are fed up with Tamil dailies which are loyal to either ruling or opposite parties; there is a huge vacuum there for un-biased tamil daily.
Good initiative. How about an English TV channel run from Chennai that matches to "The Hindu" quality and content? Current English channels are primarily North-based and cover very little of what matters to people in the South. The Tamil channels are, one way or the other, connected to a political party. The exact space filled by The Hindu in the print media is currently vacant in TV.
what is the necessity for a new super speciality hospital for children. examine the condition of the existing childrens' hospital at Egmore, with required/insufficient infrastructure. Necessary steps to upgrade this existing hospital to a SUPER SPECIALITY HOSPITAL will not save the life of dying children but also save the unique Anna Noolagam. service to Tamilnadu People without any political prejudices will place Ms.Jayalalitha at the acme of fame. Her tenure of Chief Ministership will find a special place in the history of Tamilnadu.
Mikavum Nandree, can you please make this available in Apple iTunes Podcast section ?
We are all waiting for the "Kamadhenu" to cherish our life. All the very BEST " THE HINDU".
During 1978 , on the eve of THE HINDU CENTENARY celebrations , I had read an article in ONLOOKER magazine as well as the Madras magazine ASIDE [ both ceased publication in 1980s ] that THE HINDU was likely to bring out regional editions in southern languages .Ananda vikatan , tamil magazine also mentioned That The Hindu was to soon launch a TAMIL DAILY - to be called KAMADHENU . Nothing materialised in the last over 30 years . The future is for dailies in vernacular languages only . The Hindu is the only english daily in INDIA not to have a sister publication in an indian language . All major and minor english dailes in INDIA - like TOI,HT,DC,DH,NIE,IE,DNA, TRIBUNE , STATESMAN , ASSAM TRIBUNE , SENTINEL etc have regional language dailies in their fold . Better late than never THE HINDU launches regional language dailies .Its loyal readers are eagerly looking forward to these launches soon from THE HINDU group .
A good start. It is very useful for people like me who are living far away from Tamilnadu as this provides impartial views about current events.
Keep going... Nalla thodakkam
this is really nice idea and it should be continued
Oru nalla muarchi.tamiz mozhi peyarppu kaadhil inimaiyaga olitthadhu. I am seventysix years old. I wonder whether i will live to see a TAMIL edition of THE HINDU which i have been reading for the past six and a half+ decades. Congratulations.
Good efforts. Hats off to The Hindu. Let the efforts continue..........
kudo to the hindu, i think will comeout tamil edn also, keep it editorial as a fifth pillar of constitution
I suggest that The Hindu launch immediately a tamil , telugu , kannada , malayalam , oriya etc editions . To begin with a 4 page supplement of news in local languages may be issued along with main edition from all printing centres .The HINDU also should revamp the NDTV HINDU TV channel and make it interesting to watch with watchable programmes .At present NDTV HINDU programmes are horrible to say the least .
INDUS TELEVISION NETWORK TV channel of THE HINDU abondoned in 1990s may be revived .
The Hindu needs to launch more editions in MUMBAI , PUNE and other big cities in north india and make it available to its loyal readers on the same day in the morning like in south .
Great works. Hope concerns authorities hear this and act accordingly. Looking for more such editorial articles.
This will add another feather to the crown of The Hindu...Keep going on.Great initiative!
It's a commendable job.You are doing a great service to the people who are trying to improve their English knowledge.

It is a very good initiative. Wishing this to continue ever.
It is a great bonanza for Tamil people.Kudos to THE HINDU
A high quality podcast from a non-tabloid daily. Amazing work, please keep it going. Would come back here to listen and learn more.
Thanks.
I welcome your move and invite you to at least insert 4 pages of tamil news in the regular of The Hindu in the Rest of Trichy Edition (covering Delta districts)on an experimental basis. This will definitely serve the readers effectively to understand the happenings
in India and abroad. - G. Jayakumar
A novel and needy intiative. Ihope my favourit Hindu will comeforward soon with tamil version of Hindu at an affordable price for people living in villages so that they can know good and useful news and also can learn english by concurrent study of both english version of hindu news through libraries.
Mohan.
Let every one in tamil nadu understand what The hindu writes in the editorial page.
it is wonderful to LISTEN to the pulse of the national events, opinion in lingua franca. i wholeheatedly commend the hindu's efforts in this direction. i invited students of lower matric on their way back home and exposed them to listening to this. they were happy with this as it would be effortless and efficient way of knowing public opinion on current affairs who are comfortable learning only in their mother tongue. kudos to the hindu.
Very good initiative!!
Good to see another innovative step from The Hindu. Congratulations.
Good work and appreciate your innovative steps. Hoping Malayalam podcast also in future. Thanks a lot

nalla muyarchi. as noted here, there's still a space for a paper like The Hindu in vernacular languages too and i am sure readers would lap up a tamil version of The Hindu....
wow,nice Initiative Hail THE HINDU.
Dear Sir, The Hindu's latest initiative of Tamil podcasts is a tribute
to Tamils. Great wishes! Commenting on your editorial "Let the library stay" - I would subscribe the view that the decision of Jaya Govt to convert Anna Centenary Library to Super Specialty pediatric hospital is pure political vendetta. We cannot anticipate any Cabinet meeting chaired by our CM will discuss issues/agenda items and take/suggest alternative decisions other than what was proposed by the Chief Minister. Coz, all our Ministers incl seniors are understandably voiceless before 'might' of CM. Hence, Madras High Court would have to dispose many petitions/writs in coming days as well.
very nice.. it's innovation and unique steps for tamil ppl... we're welcome this.. we also need "The Hindu" in tamil version...
A good initiative, by introducing tamil podcast in the web. all the best.
Good efforts. Hats off to The Hindu. Let the efforts continue..........
Excellent initiative.
Thanks! I look forward to more of these podcasts in Tamizh!
