Corrections & Clarifications - August 13, 2013

In the first paragraph of “ >Squaring the Turkish circle ” (Editorial, August 10, 2013) there was a reference to Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Freedom and Justice Party . It should have been Justice and Development Party .

With reference to the article “ >A simple low-cost unit for manure production ” (Science & Tech / Agriculture page, August 8, 2013), Dr. P. Alagesan’s (Programme Coordinator, Myrada, Gobichettipalayam, Erode District.) clarification: The sentence which read “Farmers who visited it opined that they could afford such a high …” should have read: “Farmers who visited it opined that they could not afford such a high …”

A sentence in “ >Bolt blazes away to reclaim 100m gold ” (Sport, August 12, 2103) read: “Former … Nesta Carter led three further Jamaicans for bronze in 9.95 seconds.” It should have been two . Carter led Kemar Bailey-Cole and Nickel Ashmeade.

The sixth paragraph of “ >Selectors in search for pace options ” (Sport, August 10, 2013) said that Vinay played four matches against Zimbabwe. Actually, Vinay played in the first three matches only.

In the report, “ >Reaching a milestone in nuclear technology ” (August 12, 2013), Anil Kakodkar was erroneously referred to as Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission. It should have been former Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission .
