>> In the Editorial page article, “ >A flawed approach to Montreal ” (Nov. 11, 2013), the abbreviation of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change was given as UNFCC. It should have been UNFCCC.

>>“Close race in desert state” (Nov. 10, 2013) wrongly referred to Vasundhara Raje as a daughter-in-law of Bharatpur’s former Jat royalty. Actually, she is the daughter-in-law of the Dholpur royal family.

>>In the OP-ED page article, “ >Down but not out ” (Nov. 9, 2013), the writer had erroneously referred to Sidney Jones as the Crisis Group’s expert on counter-terrorism in Indonesia. Actually, Ms. Jones left the Crisis Group earlier this year to set up her own Jakarta-based think tank called Institute for Policy Analysis and Conflict (IPAC). She is currently director of IPAC.

>>“ >Madhavan Nair should not have made such a comment: C.N.R. Rao ” (Nov. 9, 2013) quoted Mr. Nair as saying that ISRO should have addressed India’s acute shortage of communication transporters. It should have been communication transponders.

>>A sentence in “ >Mars spacecraft orbit raised again ” (Nov. 9, 2013) read: “ISRO’s … (PSLV-25) had put India’s Mars orbiter in an earthbound orbit …on November 5.” It should have been PSLV-C25.

>>A sentence in “ >Meet the Polgar who started it all ” (Nov. 10, 2013) read: “They are also proof of their father Laszlo Polgar’s theory that geniuses are born, and not made.” It should have read: “They are also proof … that geniuses are made because of sheer hard work and opportunity, and not born.”

>>The Ranji Trophy scores of Tripura (Nov. 10, 2013, Sport, some editions) were given as 141 in 71.3 overs, 93 in 41 overs, and 188 in 77.2 overs. It should have been 141 in 71.3 overs and 188 in 77.2 overs.
