Corrections and Clarifications - January 7, 2014

>>The PTI report, “ >U.S. Embassy told not to screen movies at American Centre ” (Jan. 5, 2014), erroneously said a deadline of 20th January, 2013 had been given to the American Centre to comply with the Government of India laws and Delhi Government regulations. It should have been 20th January, 2014 .

Incidentally, the report filed by a staff reporter - “India asks U.S. Embassy not to screen movies without licence” (Jan. 5, 2014) – on the same subject but carried on a different page, gave the deadline correctly. Detail wise, however, it was a repetition.

>>In the penultimate paragraph of the front-page report, " >Drop plan to post doctors sans quota " (Jan. 4, 2014), there was a reference to reservation and roaster system. It should have been roster system.

>>A sentence in the Editorial, “ >Time for a change ” (Jan. 4, 2014) read: “The idea is to optimise daylight hours in the region where the sun rises around 4 a.m. in summer and it gets dark before 4 p.m., while at the eastern tip of Gujarat, about 2,900 km away, the same phenomena occur some two hours later.” It should have been the western tip of Gujarat.

>>The article, “ >Bitcoins: missing the real revolution ” (Jan. 4, 2014, Comment) gave the rupee’s lowest relevant denomination at the moment as 25 paise . It should have been 50 paise.
