Sasikala, who is serving sentence in Parappana Agrahara Prison in Bengaluru, was granted parole for 15 days to attend the last rites of her husband M. Natarajan. She reached Thanjavur by Tuesday night. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, say sources.

A suspended police officer, wanted in a fake encounter of a 27-year-old youth, was arrested on Wednesday from the premises of the Supreme Court in Islamabad. Former Senior Superintendent of Police Rao Anwar appeared before the court hearing suo moto cases about the extrajudicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud in Karachi in January.
